BLOG #4 HOW MIGHT SOME PAST OR PRESENT-DAY GROUPS OF PEOPLE RELATE TO THE LOYALISTS AND THEIR EXPERIENCES?

Today we discussed the Loyalist Migration following the Revolutionary War. Recall that the American Loyalists left their homes to start a new life, as it was becoming unsafe for them to stay where they were. The loyalists came from all walks of life; lawyers, farmers, slaves, former soldiers, etc. What they all had in common was their loyalty to the British, and the difficulties they faced once the Patriots gained momentum in the war. Loyalists had to leave their old way of life behind, and had to start over with very little. They faced many hardships, but over time formed new communities and began to thrive. Think about some of the other groups of people we have learned about in History, as well as modern-day groups of people who were forced to leave their lives/homes and start over. How might some past or present-day groups of people relate to the Loyalists and their experiences? Explain your thinking in a post.

  6. A group of people in present day, can relate to the Loyalists by being loyal to a country, group or people, or even an individual. That can relate because the Loyalists were loyal to Britan and were fighting in the Revolutionary War for them.

  10. One thing that i can think of that relates to the Loyalists and there experiencing is when people in America are leaving there country and starting a new life in Canada because they are scared of Donold Trump and what he can do, that would be the Patriots. The people that are staying in America and ar staying loyal are an example of loyalists.

  11. I think refugees from third world countries can relate to the Loyalists because they have to leave their homes and go to a totally different country and start a new life.

  12. A connection I can make is that some Americans might not feel safe now that Trump is president so they have to move and start over.

  14. People who supported the democrats didn't like Donald Trump becoming president so, they are migrating to Canada. This is maybe because a lot of companies are not willing to do any business with Trump so, people are scared of the american economy falling.

  17. The First Nations could relate to the conflict in the 7 Years War because they have experienced people taking away land from them and the Prime Minister's in the past have treated them horribly as well. If the First Nations didn't side with the government in situations them without a doubt I'd think that there would be consequences.

  18. People who supported the democrats did not like Donald Trump so they moved out of America and came to Canada. They moved to Canada because they were scared of what Donald Trump was going do to America.
