BLOG #2 DID THE QUEBEC ACT OF 1774 LEAD TO PEACE?

The Proclamation of 1763 and the Quebec Act of 1774 both aimed for peace following Britain's take over of New France. Recall that the proclamation originally outlined large areas of land that was to be given to First Nations, as well as an assimilation plan (a plan to change) the French ways to British Ways. Due to rising conflict, the proclamation was reversed and the Quebec Act outlined a larger area for Quebec and more rights for the French. Both the Aboriginals and the Thirteen Colonies along the Ohio Valley were also affected by all the changes. You may need to refer to your information sheets. Look at the maps and the changes that took place. Think of everyone involved today (Aboriginals, French, Americans). Did the Quebec Act of 1774 lead to peace? Explain your thinking in a post.

    1. Yes,I think the Quebec act led to peace because the British passed this act and gave the French their freedom to do whatever they want. Just like us now.

  12. I think that the Quebec Act of 1774 lead to peace because it protected everyone, and the First Nations as well, which wouldn't give others a reason to rebel. More rights and freedoms mean that more people are happier and will lead more peaceful lives, which was a blessing after the war.
